And yet — this is where most failures are born.

The rule: maintain and document. Don’t “improve” what’s already functioning.

AFFLUENCE — THE FALSE RUSH

Performance exceeds expectations. The AI is fast. The robots save time. The organization feels unstoppable. This is where smart operators build resilience — and amateurs chase speed.

The rule: invest in training, reserves, and robustness.

Affluence is not for expansion alone — it’s for preparation.

POWER — QUIET DOMINANCE

Power doesn’t shout. Systems are trusted. Autonomy is earned. Decisions are calm. Human oversight is strategic, not reactive. If it looks chaotic, it isn’t power.

The rule: innovate carefully. Protect what works. Guard against complacency.




POWER CHANGE — THE MOST DANGEROUS MOMENT

New leadership. New domains. New autonomy.


This is when assumptions fail, trust misaligns, and accidents spike.


History shows it again and again: most catastrophes happen right after power changes.


The rule: slow down. Clarify roles, authority, and constraints before acting.



THE RULE THEY ALL FORGET

Conditions apply to functions, not people.


A human can be calm while the system is failing.

Never apply Power actions to an Emergency system.
Never apply Emergency actions to a Normal system.
